Michelle Anderton, M.Ed. | MD-LBA

Michelle Anderton is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Maryland Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) dedicated to compassionately supporting and empowering individuals with disabilities.

She prioritizes person-centered interventions that promote independence, autonomy, and socially significant progress across environments for the individuals she serves.

Michelle earned her Bachelor of Science in Recreational Therapy with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation, as well as her Master of Education in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), from York College of Pennsylvania.

Before advancing to the role of BCBA, she has supported individuals with behavioral, neurological, and developmental disabilities across a variety of settings and disciplines. Her experience includes roles as a classroom aide, therapeutic recreation assistant, early intervention special instructor, Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in homes, daycares, and private schools, and senior clinical staff member in a clinic-based ABA setting.

During her time as a BCBA, Michelle expanded into school-based behavioral consultation, where she focused on supporting multidisciplinary teams with complex social, emotional, and behavioral needs. This diverse background has provided her with a comprehensive understanding of high-quality care that emphasizes collaboration and individualized supports that are both effective and meaningful.

Michelle is known for developing programming tailored to each client’s unique communication style and interests, motivation profile, and developmental needs to improve engagement, treatment effectiveness, and generalization. She is especially passionate about assisting individuals through multidisciplinary collaboration, proactive intervention strategies, crisis prevention, and teaching replacement behaviors and de-escalation procedures that prioritize safety, dignity, autonomy and long-term behavioral success.

Michelle flourishes at delivering professional development workshops and is continually expanding her scope of competency through ongoing education, professional collaboration, and mentorship.

In addition to her clinical work, Michelle served as an adjunct faculty member at York College of Pennsylvania, where she provided mentorship and supervision to BCBA candidates enrolled in the Applied Behavior Analysis Master’s program. Her mentorship emphasized ethical, assent-based, and trauma-informed ABA practices, within a public school setting.

Outside of her professional work, Michelle treasures spending quality time with her family and her dog, Louis, while exploring new gluten-free foods, and spending time in the sun.
